Activism Photography
I am not one who chants together with the crowd. It’s totally not me.
However witnessing people who stand against injustices, whether in a crowd or as single advocates, fills me with hope. So I contribute my way - through my lens. With this powerful tool I’m capable of capturing poignant moments, not only to effectively amplify the message of the cause, but also to express my experience artistically.
I attended several public demonstrations/protests over the years, addressing issues ranging from racism to femicides and environmental concerns etc. My commitment intensified when I became a consistent advocate for animals subjected to relentless human exploitation. Balancing between photography and engaging with passersby who show interest, I find myself making compromises to convey the urgency of the cause over capturing every desired image.
In the realm of activism photography, my focus lies in isolating compelling characters within the crowd. This nuanced approach is crucial to evoke emotions like anger, pity, sadness, and joy, as reflected in the images showcased in this gallery. Witness the essence of my activism captured through my lens.
It's harsh. It's real. But who's the real victim?
It's true. It's shocking. And everyone needs to see it.
I'm suffocating.

We can either hide behind fairy tales to justify our wrongdoings, or face them.

Fear.
Why hide reality?
Crave to freedom.
"Yes, I'm black. So?" A message which can apply to not only the colour of the skin, but to any injustice. Yes I'm gay, a woman, an animal. So?
